The new and improved Magnetic Mould and Deckle is back and ready to work for you, now in A7 and A9 size with four sheets in one. This two piece papermaking tool is heavily coated in marine epoxy, each piece (mould and deckle) is buffed to a super smooth finish, and fitted with magnets to gently hold the deckle in place on top of the mould. The basic “student” mould design (flush mount) is truly elevated to a luxurious and long lasting papermaking tool with that magnetic detail. Pretty brilliant, if I do say so myself… The poly screen is heat shrinkable with a hairdryer, and very durable. Pulp just slides off of like a dream, and the thick epoxy edge along the mould gives a beautiful crisp deckled edge to each sheet. Such a joy to use, and should last a lifetime with proper care.

Makes four sheets in one. The actual size of each mould section for the A7 is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4’’ (finished sheet 5 x 7’,’ depending on shrinkage rate of fiber). This specific size is designed to ensure that your finished sheet of paper fits nicely into any standard envelope without crushing any of the deckled edges that may reach out beyond the edges of the paper. The A9 version makes sheets that are roughly 5 1/2 x 8 1/2’’, with the deckle slightly undersized (5 1/4 x 8 1/4’’).

Choose between a natural epoxy finish, which shows off the beauty of the wood, or choose the black stained version if you like to work with heavy pigments.
